Multi-page TIFF and compression types
A TIFF can hold several pages, which is how many scanners and fax systems save a document. Docrift reads every page with UTIF, an open-source TIFF parser, including the common compressions: uncompressed, LZW, PackBits, Deflate, JPEG and CCITT Group 3/4 (black-and-white fax). Pages are stored losslessly in the PDF. Choose a File size limit to turn them into compact JPEG pages instead.
Questions
Does it handle multi-page TIFF files?
Yes. Each page in the TIFF becomes its own page in the PDF, in the same order.
Why is my PDF large?
Lossless scans at 300–600 DPI are big. Choose “Under 2 MB” or “Under 1 MB” under File size, or run the PDF through Compress PDF.
Is my scan uploaded?
No. The TIFF is parsed and the PDF built in your browser.
