How to use it
- Choose a PDF exported from software (not a scan).
- Pick one sheet for everything or one per page.
- Press Convert and check the preview, then open the .xlsx.
How columns are found
PDF tables are not tables inside the file, just text placed in neat vertical lines. Docrift records where every run of text starts on the page, clusters those left edges into column positions, and drops each fragment into the nearest column to its left. Amounts like 1,234.50, (56.00) and 12% are converted into real numbers, so SUM works straight away.
Right-aligned number columns and headings that span two columns sometimes land one column over. The preview shows the first rows so you can check before opening the file.
Questions
Does it work on scanned statements?
Not directly, because a scan has no text layer. Use OCR PDF first; it outputs table rows separated by | that you can paste into Excel with Text to Columns.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. It is opened with pdf.js, the same PDF engine Firefox uses, inside this tab. Nothing is sent to a server.
Are negative numbers in brackets handled?
Yes, (56.00) becomes −56.
