How to use it

  1. Choose or drop your JPG files. Add more at any time.
  2. Put the pages in order and pick A4, Letter or “same as image”, plus a margin.
  3. Press Make PDF. The file downloads straight away.

Why JPEGs go in untouched

A JPEG is already compressed. Most converters decode it and compress it again, which adds a second layer of blur and blockiness. The PDF format can hold JPEG data directly (the DCTDecode filter), so Docrift copies each JPEG into the PDF as-is. The page looks exactly like the photo, and the PDF is barely bigger than the images combined.

Phone photos also carry an orientation tag. We read the image through the browser so sideways shots come out the right way up.

Page size, fit and margins

With A4 or Letter each photo is scaled to fit inside the margin without cropping, and centred. “Match each image” turns landscape photos into landscape pages. “Same as image” makes each page exactly the photo’s size, which suits screenshots and receipts.

Questions

Is this JPG to PDF converter really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, watermark, daily limit or paid tier. The work is done by your own browser, so it costs us nothing extra when you convert more files.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The images are read and assembled into a PDF inside this browser tab using the open-source pdf-lib library. You can switch to airplane mode after the page loads and it still works.

Can I put several images into one PDF?

Yes. Add as many as you like; each image becomes one page. Use the arrow buttons to set the order before you press Make PDF.

Will the quality drop?

JPEG photos are placed into the PDF byte-for-byte, so there is no second round of compression. PNG files stay lossless. Other formats are converted once at high quality.

My PDF is too big to email or upload. What now?

Pick a limit under File size before you press Make PDF (from 2 MB down to 100 KB), or run an existing PDF through the PDF compressor.

How do I convert JPG to PDF on Windows or Mac without a website?

Windows: select the JPGs, right-click → Print → Microsoft Print to PDF. Mac: open them in Preview → File → Export as PDF (one image) or Print → Save as PDF (several). Docrift gives you more control over order, margins and size.
