How to use it
- Choose a PDF.
- Pick a resolution and pages.
- Press Convert.
When PNG is the right choice
PNG compresses flat areas of colour extremely well and never smudges edges, so pages of text, charts and slides look perfect. Scanned or photo-heavy pages are better as JPG, where PNG files can be five times larger.
Questions
Is the background transparent?
No, pages are drawn on white, as they appear in a PDF reader.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. It is opened with pdf.js, the same PDF engine Firefox uses, inside this tab. Nothing is sent to a server.
What resolution should I use for slides?
150 DPI gives about 1650 px wide for a 11-inch slide, which is right for most screens.
