How to use it

  1. Choose a PDF.
  2. Pick a resolution, JPEG quality and (optionally) which pages.
  3. Press Convert. One page downloads as a JPG; several arrive as a ZIP.

Picking a resolution

DPI means how many pixels are drawn for each inch of the page. An A4 page at 150 DPI is 1240×1754 pixels, sharp on any phone. 300 DPI (2480×3508) is print quality, but each file is about four times larger. 72 DPI is enough for thumbnails.

JPEG quality 85 is visually indistinguishable from the original for most pages. Below 70, fine text starts to get fuzzy edges.

JPG or PNG?

JPG is smaller for photos and scans. PNG is lossless and better for pages of crisp text and line drawings, but larger. If you are unsure, see PDF to PNG.

Questions

Can I convert only some pages?

Yes. Type pages and ranges such as 1-3, 7 in the Pages box.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. It is opened with pdf.js, the same PDF engine Firefox uses, inside this tab. Nothing is sent to a server.

What is the difference between converting pages and extracting images?

Whole pages gives you a picture of each page, text and all. Extract images saves only the photos and graphics embedded in the PDF, at their original pixel size, without the surrounding page.

Can I convert a PDF to JPG on my phone?

Yes. Open this page in Safari or Chrome on the phone, choose the PDF from Files or Downloads, and convert. On iPhone a ZIP opens in Files; tap it to unpack the JPGs, then Save Image to add them to Photos.

Can a PDF file be an image?

A PDF can contain images, and a scanned PDF is essentially one image per page, but the PDF itself is a document format. Image-only apps (Instagram, many upload forms) need a JPG or PNG, which is what this converts to.

Is there a page limit?

No fixed limit. Very long PDFs at 300 DPI may run out of memory on older phones; convert in batches if that happens.

Why is the image blank or missing text?

Rarely, a PDF uses unusual embedded fonts. Try another resolution; if a page still renders wrong, the PDF itself may be damaged.
