How to use it
- Choose the original and the revised file (PDF, DOCX or TXT, mixed is fine).
- Ignore spacing changes if the layout moved.
- Press Compare and read the highlighted changes.
How the comparison works
Both files are turned into plain text in your browser, then compared with a longest-common-subsequence algorithm (the same idea behind the Unix diff command and Git), at word level. Green is new in the revised version; red with a strike-through is gone.
Formatting changes (bold, font, spacing) are not reported, only wording. That is usually what matters in a contract or policy, and it means you can compare a Word draft against the signed PDF.
Questions
Can I compare a Word file with a PDF?
Yes. Both are reduced to text first, so the formats can differ.
Are my documents uploaded?
No. Extraction and comparison happen entirely in this tab.
Why does it show many changes when little changed?
Usually because line breaks moved. Keep “Ignore spacing and line-wrap changes” ticked.
