How File Conversion Works

All document conversions happen entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript libraries:

• Your files never leave your device
• No uploads to our servers
• Processing happens locally on your computer
• Files are processed in browser memory only

Local Storage

We use browser storage (IndexedDB/localStorage) only for:

• Conversion History Metadata: Stores only filenames, conversion types, timestamps, and file sizes (NOT the actual file contents)
• User Preferences: Default quality settings, output format preferences, theme preferences

You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings or our "Clear History" feature.

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to collect anonymous usage data including:

• Page views and navigation patterns
• Conversion type statistics (e.g., "PDF to Word" usage count)
• General performance metrics
• Aggregated traffic statistics

Ahrefs Web Analytics is a privacy-focused analytics service that does NOT track:

• Individual user identity
• File contents or names
• Personal information
• Cross-site behavior

No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected or shared with third parties.

Third-Party Services

DocuSwift does not use third-party APIs for core conversion functionality. All conversions are performed locally using open-source JavaScript libraries.

Current Third-Party Services:

• Ahrefs Web Analytics: Privacy-focused website analytics (see Analytics section above)
• No AI Services: We do not currently use AI gateways, AI APIs, or send any data to AI providers

Future Optional Features: If we add server-side features in the future (such as AI-powered OCR for scanned PDFs or other AI features), we will:

• Clearly mark these features as requiring server processing
• Disclose which AI providers or services are used
• Obtain explicit user consent before processing
• Delete files immediately after processing
• Update this privacy policy accordingly

Data Retention

• Files: Never stored on our servers
• Local history: Stored in your browser until you clear it
• Analytics: Anonymous aggregated data only

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Use DocuSwift without providing any personal information
• Clear your local conversion history at any time
• Request information about our privacy practices

Changes to This Policy

We will notify users of any material changes to this privacy policy by updating this document and the "Last Updated" date.
